Published Translations

Woll, Thomas: Rukověť nakladatele. Řemeslo, věda, umění.
Czech translation of Publishing for Profit by Thomas Woll. The text was translated together with another colleague, the majority of work was, however, performed by me. The text deals basically with economic issues.

European Legislation

Since the accession of the Czech Republic to EU I have been translating for agencies providing services to European institutions. In 2007 only, I have translated more than 56,000 words for the European Commission. These texts, translated from English to Czech, represent in most cases proposals of directives, communications or resolutions of the Commission. I translated for instance parts of the Directive 96/48/EC (more than 36,000 words), parts of a Non-binding guide to good practice concerning noise at work (more than 31,000 words).

Other

At present, majority of my workload comes from agencies. In four cases (two Czech agencies, a Slovak one and one Irish agency) I would consider our collaboration as regular. Measured by a number of translated words, my average daily performance amounts to c. 3,000 words.
